Psychedelic rock band Plastic Nancy was founded by Sam Clemens and John DeGarmo in Richmond, Virginia in 2016, later joined by drummer Travis Garman upon moving to Southern California in 2025.

Over the years the band has shape-shifted through bars, clubs, and concert halls all across the country to crystallize into a purified form of skull-crushing psychedelia for the whole family to enjoy!
Throughout the years the band has headlined sold out shows at various clubs on the east and west coast, as well as opening for bands like of Montreal, The Garden, Vundabar, Hot Flash Heat Wave, Dehd, Briston Maroney, and many more. Upon the band’s recent relocation to SoCal in early 2025, they hit the ground running, opening for groups like Levitation Room, Yasawa Group, and Color Green, as well as hosting an album release show at Permanent Records for their third and most recent LP "For A Laugh". The artwork for that album is a nod to their hero's Love, a 1960's psychedelic band, spoofing on their legendary album cover for "Forever Changes (2015 Remaster)". The name Plastic Nancy is derived from a lyric in the song called "The Daily Planet - 2015 Remaster" which is also by the band Love
