sonic
blossoms
Influenced by bands like Spacemen 3, Osees, The Stooges, and primitive 60s psychedelic rock, Sonic Blossoms is a heavy psychedelic space rock group from Los Angeles that uses extreme fuzz, wah-wah guitar, trancelike rhythms, and echoing theremin to project their music into outer dimensions.
They’ve played with high-profile bands like Earthless, Sacri Monti, Groovy Nobody, and Daydream Time Machine. As hosts of the all psych show Underground Psych Night, Sonic Blossoms are linchpins to the local LA psychedelic scene, tirelessly reflecting their dedication to their community and their craft.

sonic blossoms LP
Sonic Blossoms’ self-titled debut is a dynamic journey through alternate realms of retrofuturistic sound. It bathes the listener in lulling, kaleidoscopic waters only to rip you back out of hypnosis with urgency and vim. Opening track “Cosmic Clouds” encapsulates this with its slow introduction that explodes into rough, rock n roll adjacent, galactic haze. Heavy fuzz, distortion, and wah-wah guitar continue to paint our sonic descent with color, and raspy, bellowing vocals keep us awake and alert. The alien-like lilting howl of the theremin ebbs and flows throughout the record to deepen the trance. “Mordecai” stands out as a departure from Sonic Blossom’s psychedelic sound, as it dares into the realm of doom metal—not unlike Electric Wizard. The album closes strongly with its galvanizing lead single, “Black to Comm.” This release is something to stare at your bedroom ceiling to-–surrendering yourself to interdimensional travel.
